It\u2019s been a lot of work, but as is always the case when we get together, a lot of laughs. (I count myself lucky to work with people I know well and\u00a0<strong>actually like<\/strong>.) By my count, we sorted, purged, donated, and relocated: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 29%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">2 boxes of sand<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">6 three-hole punches<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">9 papier-mache puppets&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">14 staplers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">18 clay sculptures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">43 rocks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">67 pairs of scissors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">327 photographs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">411 hot-glue sticks&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">1,187 books<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">10,000,000 sheets of construction paper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><a href=\"https:\/\/canva.link\/fvkyhgs7vupix74\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"594\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/center.antioch.edu\/csc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/06\/Screenshot-2026-06-04-at-71652-AM-594x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-572 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/center.antioch.edu\/csc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/06\/Screenshot-2026-06-04-at-71652-AM-594x1024.png 594w, https:\/\/center.antioch.edu\/csc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/06\/Screenshot-2026-06-04-at-71652-AM-174x300.png 174w, https:\/\/center.antioch.edu\/csc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/06\/Screenshot-2026-06-04-at-71652-AM.png 638w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 594px) 100vw, 594px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And a whole bunch of &#8220;<em><strong>Do&nbsp;you have any idea what this is<\/strong><\/em>?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we sorted and reminisced about students, faculty, and programs gone by, it became clear that much of what we\u2019d held onto for all of these years just wasn\u2019t useful anymore. It was important to who we had been, but it wasn\u2019t part of who we were becoming.&nbsp; Sometimes we have to let go to make way for&nbsp;something&nbsp;new.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I know that a lot of you are clearing out classrooms right now. You may be packing up for summer (because nothing beats that freshly waxed August floor) or you may be moving to a new classroom or position. Maybe you\u2019re wrapping up your classroom career, moving into retirement or a different professional chapter. No matter what, you\u2019re probably doing the same thing- sorting and reminiscing and reflecting on the year or years gone by.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Who we are at our core isn\u2019t represented by any single item. It\u2019s not about the puppets or the student artwork or the faculty publications. Our core beliefs\u2014 that people (including children) matter, that play and work magnify one another, that authentic relationships are the foundation of powerful learning, and that teacher education should be inspiring, joyful, and (most importantly) embody the kinds of practices that we want to see in classrooms.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This month, I\u2019m sharing some resources to help you with packing up including another&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/antioch.us9.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=54a75c032424f9199b4694465&amp;id=86fa29bdd2&amp;e=2a47076dd7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spotify Playlist<\/a>&nbsp;curated just for you.
