Professional development for educators
Since 1985, the Antioch Center for School Renewal (ACSR) has partnered with schools and communities to provide high-quality professional development for educators. As the service division of the Department of Education at Antioch University New England, our school coaches, drawn from highly skilled, experienced K-12 teacher-leaders, consultants, and university faculty, are part of an educational institution that dates back to Horace Mann and embodies the values of progressive, learner-centered education.
ACSR’s first initiative was the Critical Skills Program, which continues to the present day. Our current professional development activities are focused on developing professional learning communities and designing nature-centered, place-based learning, and experiential learning. We apply the principles of Critical Skills (problem-based, collaborative, experiential, and standards-driven learning) in all of these efforts to support meaningful teaching, learning, and change initiatives. You work hard in service to children and youth. We will help you grow what you are doing right.
