Coaching and Consulting

Making Change is Hard. We Can Help.

Listening, reflecting on what is being said, and helping clients design solutions are vital to our coaching and consulting services. We provide an objective set of eyes and hands to support your change goals, using tools and strategies rooted in the most up-to-date research and best practices for school change and adult learning. Whether you’re trying to implement a single innovation or you are engaging in large-scale restructuring, our consultants offer a varied set of professional development activities based on a thoughtfully crafted “hierarchy of school needs” (Smith & Sobel, 2010).

Coaching (Individual and Small Teams)
Coaching is a much more personalized form of professional development. Our coaches have extensive experience and expertise to share. That knowledge is best shared when the teacher willingly examines how and what they teach, asks for targeted feedback, identifies what kind of classroom interaction (if any) they want, and participates in a pre-conference, observation/meeting, and post-conference (Yopp et al., 2011). Classroom interactions may include observing, modeling a lesson, leading a field trip, or co-teaching. The same process can be applied to small teams of teachers working together on a specific initiative. Coaching is also tailored to the specific needs of teachers.
